CBC Report to air this Sunday at 11 a.m - let's make ourselves heard!
October 23, 2024

   Dear Gasbusters,

THIS NEEDS YOUR ATTENTION WITHIN THE NEXT 24 HOURS.

The CBC environment program, ‘What On Earth,’ hosted by Laura Lynch, will broadcast a report on listeners' viewpoints about gas- powered leaf blowers this Sunday at 11:00 a.m. on CBC.

‘What On Earth’ wants to hear your opinion by Thursday about the use of gas-powered leaf blowers and why you think there should be a switch to electric ones.

In November, City councillors will debate the ongoing use of gas- powered leaf blowers in Toronto. The more comments received by ‘What On Earth’,  the greater will be the influence on councillors to vote to ban gas- powered leaf blowers.

Switching to electric blowers seems like a no- brainer. They’re quieter, don’t pump out pollutants, and can still get the job done efficiently. It’s not just about comfort, it’s about the long-term health of our communities and the planet.  Why would Toronto declare a Climate Emergency in 2019 and not be prepared to seize the "low hanging fruit" that gas leaf blowers represent in the battle against climate change?

Share your own experiences with 'What on Earth' and dealing with the noise and fumes firsthand? This is an opportunity to tell of the harm they have caused you.
